GRIMSBY - GRIMSBY AUDITORIUM, 17th & 18th January, 2009

100 Stands Available
This will be our seventh year at Grimsby Auditorium, a modern, purpose built building, with ample on-site parking and disabled facilities. It has a wonderful atmosphere for our type of event and every modern convenience. The auditorium is ground floor, with a first floor talks and demonstrations room, serviced by a lift.
Catering has been arranged to keep visitors on site. When we first ran this one so early in the year, many thought it would be too soon after Christmas. Just ask those that have done it - this one usually gets the year off to a flying start!

Another popular and well established event, Newark filled up quickest of all for the last two years, so book early! The pavilion is a purpose built structure, but with the luxury of carpets and upholstered fittings, not usually associated with a showground. Needless to say there is ample on-site parking, a whole showground full in fact, in-house catering including a mini-carvery on Sunday and a separate room for talks and demonstrations.

We acquired this event in March of 2007 with only 5 weeks to go and were amazed at the potential. We were even more amazed at the tremendous ambience and energy created in what was a railway engine repair shed before undergoing some clever and tasteful conversion! The second event exceeded the first, even on a Bank Holiday!
Last year the attendance again grew show on show till this rivals our lagship Lincoln event! We believe the Elsecar events will perhaps become our largest events in terms of footfall in time!

After four years of searching, the mailing list for this area finds a permanent home! What a home it is to be sure! The newly refurbished Bowling Hall gave a marvellous atmosphere to the show. The refurbishment was so new, it was still ongoing last year when we were there, but all is now finished, so we have our separate talks room and full parking facilities which were not available in 2008.

Our only new venue this year, but what a find. This one was suggested by an exhibitor and we think it will prove to be a popular event. The conference centre is tucked away in the corner of a business park, but with rural views from the windows. It has a purpose built exhibition hall with room off for the talks theatre and refreshments in an overlooking first floor room, so all self contained. The centre also offers B&B. We checked out a bedroom and it was of good appearance.
They offer exhibitors a discounted rate of £54 per double or twin room including full English breakfast or £45 for a single. Journey time from room to show, approximately 1 minute! It doesn’t get better than that! If booking, tell them you are an exhibitor at the event to obtain the discounted rate.

'The Music Show' - 150 Stands Available
£15 extra stand fee
Where do we start! Lincoln is now in it’s eighth great year and still growing. We are excited to be moving from the existing building on the showground with the few problems it presented to the brand new, totally amazing Epic Centre, almost an attraction in itself! The Epic centre is `a new development which has created a centre of environmental innovation which aims to explore low carbon technologies. It comes complete with a ‘living roof’ and an ‘earth toilet’! Fortunately with flushable ones too. It is also a building with amazing ambience and facilities.
After the event the technology even prints out the carbon footprint of the event! How could we resist! The downside is the cost, but as the old building is scheduled for eventual demolition, we decided to bite the bullet and embrace all this centre has to offer, which is so in keeping with the aims of Mind, Body and Spirit. This show is therefore just £15 more on the stand fee than all the others in our portfolio. We even get a lady to give a guided tour of the facility as an added attraction!

Last year saw the acquisition of the show at the Metrodome in Barnsley, previously run by Chatsworth Fairs and a popular one in the diaries of many of you. We intend to build on what Chatsworth Fairs started even more this year, having now got a feel for the event and the venue. Our first move was to shift the date slightly for this year, moving away from the Bank Holiday weekend.
With the exception of Elsecar in August, I would never normally run on a Bank Holiday, so am following my instincts in this. We will retain the marquee lining and carpeting which helped to add to the ambience of this lovely event.

Our second visit of the year to Grimsby Auditorium. It never fails to amaze me how two shows in the same venue can be different, but this is the case here. The summer show usually turns out to be slightly smaller than the January one, as many of you are on holiday etc, but even so, the public still flock in.
Last year, despite clashing with the local 'Fish Dock Festival' which is a sort of family fun day on a moveable weekend each year, the Waddington Two Day Air Show, and a local country fair, we still held and slightly increased our numbers, proving the popularity of this event.

Our second visit of 2009 to Alfreton. I have every belief that this will turn into another Newark event in time. The newly refurbished Bowling Hall gives a marvellous atmosphere to the show. The refurbishment was so new, it was still ongoing last year when we were there, but all is now finished, so we have our separate talks room and full parking facilities which were not available in 2008.

Our second visit of the year to Elsecar. This is the only show I would consider running on a Bank Holiday weekend. The reason it works is that Elsecar is an attraction in its own right, with a children’s adventure play facility, craft workshops and more. Last year we coincided with Thomas Tank weekend, another attraction.
It is not necessarily that those attending these things come into the show, rather that those wishing to attend the show can still do so and have a family weekend at the same time, rather than mother feeling guilty doing her own thing and leaving the family behind. Whatever the reason, it works and works well!

At the time of writing, this event has not taken place yet in 2008. This is by way of being our smallest event in terms of stands, due to the council in their wisdom, turning a third of the hall into a leisure suite after we had booked and marketed it in 2008!
Never daunted, the amount of enquiry we are receiving about it makes us confident it will be worth repeating in 2009.The centre is undergoing refurbishment during the building works, so we feel it will be a good atmosphere for our event.

Last year saw a whopping 25% increase in footfall over 2007, so we are confident this show will build and grow by reputation. The venue is a purpose built exhibition hall with carpeted floor and drapery giving an ambient feel to it. It has its own café and ample parking and easy unloading!
A Travel Lodge has been built on site during 2008, so for those of you who travel, it is possible to stay only 3 minutes from the event if you wish.

'The Win ter Spectacular' - 150 Stands Available
£15 extra stand fee
What a joy to be leaving the old building behind for the Epic centre for the November show. The old building had 'cold spots' during winter, so will not be missed for that! This show has always been the last of the year and so billed as the 'Winter Spectacular', with the advertising geared to encourage seasonal shopping.
Many stand holders decorate their stands in keeping with this and we run a special treasure hunt with a seasonal theme. Even though with the acquisition of the Barnsley Metrodome events this is now the penultimate event, we intend to keep the theme as the public expect it. We hope you will join in the spirit of the event and have a great show in every way.

The new 'last of the year'! Marie at Chatsworth Fairs had not run the November event for a year or two, as she lived in Spain in the winter. However, so many of you asked for it to be resurrected, here it is!
All the seasonal theme of Lincoln will be introduced into this event and once again, we hope you will join in the spirit of it all (no pun intended!). We intend to make this a good one to end 2009 with. Hope you will be there with us.
