Craniosacral Therapy
What is Craniosacral Therapy?
Craniosacral Therapy is an extremely gentle form of "whole body" treatment that grew out of the work of an American osteopath, Dr William Garner Sutherland, during the last century.
Craniosacral therapists assert that each of us expresses an intrinsic, subtle form of movement within our cells, organs and all our bodily systems; a rhythmic change in qualities and connectedness which reflects our state of physical, mental and emotional health.
Craniosacral treatment involves a very gentle touch of the therapist's hands upon appropriate parts of the body, usually including the head and spine, in order to sense this movement, which therapists refer to as "Craniosacral motion".
Craniosacral Therapists work to enhance the underlying vitality of Craniosacral Motion and to help dissolve restrictions that can lead to dysfunction and, ultimately, symptoms of illness and disease.
