Our first visit of the year to the wonderful Elsecar show!
92 stands!Elsecar is our second most popular show in terms of visitor and exhibitor numbers, but actually, my favourite! I love the old mellow stone building and the ambience within. When I first found out it had been a railway engine repair shed, I simply could not believe it, but the steam railway that runs just outside rather proves the point.
The Heritage Centre is a collection of small craft and curiosity shops with a charming tea room, a children's adventure play facility and of course, the steam trains which run on most Bank Holiday weekends while we are there.
This provides an interesting day out for other family members if they don't wish to participate in the show, although this particular show seems to appeal to a large number of family groups of all ages.
Elsecar always provides an excellent mix of stands - readers of tarot, palm and crystal ball, astrologer, aura camera and more, therapists offering Reiki, Reflexology, Aromatherapy, Massage and a multitude of other treatments to pamper and create wellbeing and then the wonderful trade stands - incense, jewellery, books, CDs, crystals, organic toiletries, clothes, bags, candles, angels, pagan and wiccan goods, the list is endless. Bright, colourful and very fragrant - a wonderful place to spend a day.
