Our sixth year of the wonderful Elsecar show!
100 stands!
We knew of the event, and also knew it to be a favourite with exhibitors. When starting out, there are certain, well established shows that new promoters do well to avoid clashing dates with, and Elsecar had always been one of those in our early days.
To cut a long story short, the existing promoter had health issues and couldn't continue, but knew how much exhibitors loved and relied on the show, so wanted us to take it on.
This we did, with only eight weeks to go and nothing done, no advertising placed, no bookings confirmed or printing ordered! Never let it be said we don't enjoy a challenge!!! We must admit to a momentary gasp when we learned the venue was a converted railway engine repair shed, but when we visited we found it to be a wonderful mellow stone building, tastefully converted and with a wonderful, welcoming feel to it.
The Universe smiled on us and the show was a huge success, even given the obstacles. The second event of the year in August cemented it as a fantastic show, and it has since gone from strength to strength until it is now our second busiest event after Manchester and second largest in terms of stands after Lincoln!
The show runs in March and August each year and now attracts visitors in the thousands each time. It is busy, vibrant and colourful and offers a well balanced mix of therapies, retail stands and readers offering all manner of divinations.
The show has all the usual BSSK attractions - Zone of Tranquillity, a relaxing space to sit and reflect, the free Children's Angel Feather Hunt with a prize for every child, and the free prize draw for every paying adult. This is drawn at 4pm on the Sunday of the show - don't worry if you are not on site, we ring and notify the winner and winners are listed on the website after the show.
Talks and workshops are again in the marquee adjacent to the building offering what we hope is a quieter, more restful ambience. This has been welcomed by exhibitors and visitors alike, so being carpeted and with elegant chandelier lighting!
Catering is provided by The Heritage Centre's approved outside caterers, and there is the coffee shop within the Elsecar complex too. We arrange overflow parking in addition to the usual extensive parking, so it is possible to come and have a full day of pampering and discovery - a treat for your mind, body and spirit!
